Perennials Aquatics Grasses Ferns Shrubs Trees Hostas How to Plant

Cinnamon fern crosiers in spring. They are so incredible...soft and kind of furry, incredibly sculptural.

Ferns

Ferns are a must for shady and woodland gardens.  They grow naturally in the woods, and they require consistent soil moisture.  They are worth the irrigation effort, as the effect a stand of ferns has is outstanding.  Their graceful movement, forms, and textures make lush contrasting backdrops for  the broad leaves of hostas. They make a great ground cover, naturalizing easily in rich humusy, shady spaces.

We grow lots of ferns, look for new types and old favorites in the shady section our nursery.  The following is a list of some of the ferns we have grown or are growing currently, please call for availability by item.
